Olympic Writing
Yesterday we had to write a piece of writing for our teacher (Mrs Baker-Sherman) about us competing at the olympics. What we could compete in was up to us. It didn't have to be an olympic sport it could be anything- (eg. skateboarding, rollerskating...) I choose to write about competing in a dance competition.
WALT- Create a piece of personal writing using complex sentences, adjectives and similes.
I have spent more time at my studio than my house over the past years. There in week days dancing and teaching, there in the weekends teaching and doing jobs. There every second I could possibly be. I was there if sun or shine. I was there late nights and early mornings practising. Stretching when I woke up and before I went to bed. I was a starstruck lover, in love with dance and my studio.
It’s a magical thing to watch! It’s the language from soul, it’s dreaming with your feet, it’s my life.
I stood in the wings. Seeing the other competitors leave their hearts and souls on the stage.
It had all lead up to this. That moment when I step on the stage it all begins... For real. I was as nervous as a mouse getting chased by a cat. I remember what Corrine told me ‘Practice like you’ve never won, Perform like you’ve never lost.’ all I had to remember was ‘Dance with your heart not your mind, dancers aren’t great because of their technique they are great because of their passion!’ I took my position on stage. I know I have a beautiful dance and beautiful costume. Now I just have to actually do it!
There is no greater bliss than dancing and performing. And I’m doing both at the same time! I feel invincible, wonderful, amazing, excited, nervous! But most of all I feel happy. Dance has me some really hard times. It’s kept me going when I was sad, mad, doubtful of my worth. It is my passion and my life and now I am pursuing it. I dance like there is tomorrow and as the crowd cheers as loud as a siren and screams ,of amazement, like crying baby. A smile as big as Cheshire Cats’ creeps across my face.
I danced amazingly! Or so I am told. For those 3:00 minutes I danced, I completely escaped the pressure of the world! Now for the moment I have been waiting for my whole life. “The winner of your Olympic 2024 Dance Talent Competition is…” `

Lego People Art
In the first week of term we had Mrs. Lovatt as a reliever for whole week. One of the art tasks we were given was to create our own lego people. The class was given the basic outline of a lego person and then we let our imagination run wild. We had everything from pigs, unicorns, superheros, surfers, cheerleaders and gymnasts.

Electronics 2016
This term for technology I have been in electronics with Mrs Houghton. We have created an emergency light to help us see or to get to our families or safe point in an emergency occurred. I am pleased with how my light turned out on a whole. I enjoyed making a mini movie on my light. The most challenging thing was finding a good photo that resembled something in a or to do with an emergency. I thought that the most difficult thing was soldering also. Below is a picture of the final project.

Keith Haring Artwork Intro
We are learning about the art work of Keith Haring. He used bright colours and simple designs based on the human body. We have used an interactive website to create and colour a picture like his. A lot of his artwork had messages and so did my. I have done lots of flying people and words in between them say ' I believe I can fly, I believe I can touch the sky!'

All you have to do is put your date of birth, gender, weight and height, then you're away! After gathering some of my most interesting facts I have made a tagul. Check out the link up top and give it a go :-)

Logos in maths!
Over the past two days in maths, we have had the task of creating a logo for a new brand of car, lollies, clothing item etc. that must show some form of translation, rotation or reflection. I have created a logo for a new brand of togs. It shows rotation and the shape of the fish can have horizontal line of symmetry through the middle.

Ode to my Abs
Oh! How I miss you dearly.
I had all 6 of you hard as rocks,
but now…
But now like a fox you have snuck away .
Two of you faintly,
are still hopefully here to stay.
You made my nickname so real
and the happiness I would feel,
when people say...
“ Bet you don’t have abs!
Probably have flabs!”
They were wrong, so wrong!
You complimented me so nicely,
but I must admit at times you were pricey💵
All the sit-ups and crunches,
Not being able to have that piece of cake🍰
in my school lunches!
Oh, how I do miss you dearly,
But now I must stop before I get teary😢
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Reflection
😊- I really like how my poem has used rhyming .
😇- I think that I have used all of the success criteria well.
😖 - Next time I think I could do a more 'helpful' body part.

First session in electronics!
My learning journey in electronics began today. I found that the ' Get ready Get thru' website says that we need a torch with spare batteries in our emergency kit. I am going to design and make a torch ready for an emergency.
